The Chicago Bulls have joined the Bears, Blackhawks and Cubs as Chicago sports teams that fans can support with an Illinois license plate.
Sec. of State Jesse White and the Bulls unveiled the new Bulls permanent plate Tuesday. The black- and red-striped plate, which features the Bulls logo, was on display at a press conference at the Thompson Center, where White was joined by Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen and team president Michael Reinsdorf.
Starting Tuesday, the public can order the plates by visiting the secretary of state’s website, a release from White’s office said. Fans can order random number, personalized or vanity plates. They will be sent out May 13.
The cost to purchase a random number plate for a currently titled vehicle with valid registration is $69. Pricing varies for vanity and personalized plates.
Fans who attend the Bulls vs. Pacers playoff game Tuesday night at the United Center will be able to purchase and walk away with random number plates. The secretary of state’s mobile unit will also be able to register people for personalized and vanity license plates.
