Sally Bailey: Melanie Slade is a WAG with a difference

I NEVER thought I’d find myself saying “I’m a fan of a WAG” (Cheryl Cole doesn’t count), but Melanie Slade puts other footballers’ wives and girlfriends to shame.
Her boyfriend, Arsenal player Theo Walcott, bought her a Ferrari for her 21st birthday, and she sent it back, saying it was vulgar.
Hallelujah!
The £140,000 car also came with a personalised numberplate, but Melanie, pictured right, thought it was too flashy to be driving round her college campus.
Apparently (if any WAGS are reading, look away now), she thought it was a waste of money, and even went so far as to say she wishes he was less showy with his money.
I know! Unbelievable!
Next she’ll say she prefers wearing jeans and a baggy sweatshirt to heels and designer togs… oh wait, she does.
Hang on to her Theo, she’s a good ‘un!
