Welsh rugby enthusiasts now have the chance to buy the ultimate WRU personalised number plates. The personalised 1 WRU plate is to be offered for sale for the first time in 20 years.
This number plate is part of an auction of rare memorabilia which also includes one of the earliest publications of the rules of rugby, as well as the oldest international rugby jersey offered for sale publicly, one worn by Frederick Osborne Hutchinson, a Neath player.
Double Grand Slam winner Tom Shanklin said:
“When I heard about this, I was keen to take a look. I can think of a few who this would suit – what about Gethin Jenkins, with him being number 1? “You’d really be top rugby dog on the roads with this. I’d love to get my hands on it but I think my wife would hit the roof.”
The number plate will be part of a Sweat, Mud & Blood rugby memorabilia auction on May 13. It comes with a guide price of £20,000 to £30,000.
