Musical Cherished Numberplates!

Tennessee will unveil a new vanity license plate this afternoon at 3 p.m. with the theme “State of American Music.”

The new plate “properly promotes Tennessee as the most musical state in the nation,” said John Doyle, Executive Director of the Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum, which gained authorization for the plate from the Tennessee State Legislature.

The license plates will be immediately available for pre-order for $35, plus a $3 service fee.

Proceeds benefit music education benefit music education initiatives led by Tennessee music museums and charities and will be distributed through the The Gibson Foundation.

1,000 plates must be pre-ordered before production on the plate begins. If that goal isn’t reached within 12 months, all orders will be refunded.
