Jesse White and the Illinois Secretary of State’s office have today unveiled the design for the Blackhawks specialty license plate, the first Illinois plate for a professional sports team under Public Act 095-0031, which was enacted in 2002.
The fees there look a little daunting, but many of them you’re likely already paying if you have a car registered in Illinois. Additional fees beyond that range from about $27 to $94, depending on the type of plate and whether you’re making a new registration or switching your current plate. And $25 from each plate sold goes to the Professional Sports Teams Education Fund that supports public schools.
