Beginning Wednesday, Patriots fans with cars registered in Rhode Island and Massachusetts will have the opportunity to bid on exclusive low number Patriots license plates for charity.
The 2010 auction will begin with four Massachusetts plates and 10 Rhode Island plates. The plates available for auction will have the letters NE followed by a one, two or three-digit number (e.g. NE-5, NE-15 or NE-155).
The New England Patriots Rhode Island license plate is new in 2010. It features both the Patriots’ logo and the logo of the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, along with the text “Super Bowl Champions XXXVI, XXXVIII & XXXIX.”
The New England Patriots Massachusetts license plate has been on the road since 2005, with more than 20,000 in circulation. The license plate features the Patriots logo centered above the Roman numerals representing each of the team’s three Super Bowl Championships as well as the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation logo.
