Rivian's first product, the R1T electric pickup truck, hits the road as an almost production-ready prototype in 2020. A five-passenger truck with a bed, the R1T boasts up to 800 horsepower and 900 pound-feet of torque and can tow up to 11,000 pounds. Naturally, it will also do 0-60 in three seconds and have a driving range of more than 300 miles. Because it is built on a proprietary platform, the R1T has more in common with the Tesla Cybertruck than the Ford F-150 Lightning. Rivian plans to introduce its R1T electric pickup truck in 2022 with three battery sizes, boasting more than 300 miles of range per charge. Standard on every R1T are LED headlights and daytime running lights, 20-inch wheels, and a charging port. Standard interior features include Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an 11-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Luxury comes standard on the Adventure trim level, which has a host of premium features. The R1T has many different exterior colours to choose from, as well as many different options for the interior. There is also the option to emboss your registration number onto the vehicle itself, making it truly unique to you. Production of the right-hand-drive R1T will take place in the UK, with customer deliveries expected to begin in 2023. The company has also filed for permission to build a giant new factory in the UK. It wants to repurpose the defunct Nissan plant in Sunderland with the goal of starting production of electric cars by 2024. Rivian is an American electric vehicle manufacturer founded in 2009 by Robert "RJ" Scaringe. The company's corporate headquarters is located in Irvine, California.
