Police Officer Booked For Fake Number Plate

An officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Crime Branch has been booked for using a fake number plate on his car here, police said today. A case was registered yesterday against Deputy Superintendent of Police Shafkat Hussain of Crime Branch, Jammu for using a fake number plate on his car, they said. The police intercepted the car at a check point in Pacca Danga area of the city a few days ago when during checking of the vehicle’s documents, they became suspicious and checked engine number, which did not match with the documents. After proper verification, the documents were found to be those of a motorcycle and the vehicle was seized, the police said.
