The state of Alabama has no shortage of vanity license plates — schools, sororities and even square dancers have their own unique car tag available for an extra fee.
Now, gardeners are getting into the game.
Green thumbs and others can now pre-order the new Alabama master gardeners tag, said Kerry Smith, the state coordinator for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System’s Master Gardener Program.
The specialty tag is available for an extra $50, on top of the vehicle’s fees and taxes. The money raised from the tag sales will be divided between the Alabama Master Gardener Program and the Alabama Master Gardener Association horticulture scholarship at Auburn University.
