The provincial government has taken serious notice of the vehicles plying without or with fake number plates and directed the concerned officials of Excise and Taxation Department to take stern action against the violators.
Following the government’s decision, the Excise and Taxation Department in collaboration with the traffic police decided to launch a joint campaign to curb the menace and bring the violators to book.
A statement issued here on Tuesday said that there were several instances that vehicles carrying fake number plates/false registration marks were used in commissioning of heinous offences.
