GOVERNMENT Press Secretary Macajana Motsa has said the matter of Bishop Nash Shongwe using the doctorate title on his car’s number plate will be reported to the Prime Minister Dr. Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini when he returns today.
The PM was in Libya to attend the African-Arab Countries Summit. He first went to Bahamas, where he received what now appears to be a contentious award on behalf of the country. He also went to the US to meet with IMF-World bank on the country’s financial standing.
Shongwe has engraved his car’s personalised number plate with the spurious doctorate in divinity title without permission. The prime minister announced in August that Swazi citizens who would accept foreign honours without prior written permission from the government would be fined E5 000.
Motsa stated that they had received nothing from Bishop Shongwe asking permission to use the doctorate title.
