A proposed number plate that would allow drivers to express pride in Florida’s Hispanic heritage could become available soon to many of the 3.8 million Latinos who call the state home.
The “Hispanic Achievers” plate made it to the short list of several tags attached to bills passed by the Legislature.
It is heading to the desk of Gov. Charlie Crist, who could veto the bill, sign it into law or allow it to pass by default if he does not act within 15 days. A Crist spokesman said Tuesday that the governor has not yet received the bill.
