Badger Number Plates – Wisconsin

he newest Wisconsin license plate unveiled Wednesday features one of Wisconsin’s most recognizable animals, and it’s not the mascot of the University of Wisconsin.

It’s a real badger, not Bucky Badger, picked by the Department of Natural Resources for the new endangered resources license plate, joining the original grey wolf endangered resources license plate that came out in 1995.

The plate went on sale Wednesday. It features a frontal face view of the badger on the left, prairie sunflowers below the badger, a tiger swallowtail butterfly on the bottom right, and an eastern meadowlark bird in the upper left corner.
