(WHAS11) – A new number plate for organ donors has been unveiled in Frankfort. It’s sponsored by the Second Chance at Life Organization. The plate must secure 900 applications before the signature plate will be made.
The plate was the inspiration of one mother whose daughter died last year from an aneurysm.
“She was an ordinary person but made a decision to be an organ donor and that was huge she saved three lives and gave sight to two others,” said Holly Cairell, mother.
Right now, about 750 Kentuckians are on a waiting list for a life-saving transplant.
