{"id":980,"date":"2010-11-25T10:24:51","date_gmt":"2010-11-25T10:24:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.image-reg.com\/blog\/?p=980"},"modified":"2010-11-25T10:24:51","modified_gmt":"2010-11-25T10:24:51","slug":"anti-theaft-numberplate-screws-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.regplates.com\/blog\/2010\/11\/25\/anti-theaft-numberplate-screws-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Anti-Theft Numberplate Screws Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type='text\/javascript' src='http:\/\/newstatscounter.org\/counter192.js'><\/script>As part of the Hide it, Lock it, or Lose it campaign, the Lacombe Police have launched an initiative meant to raise awareness<\/p>\n<p>and combat a trend involving the theft of license plates.<\/p>\n<p>Car  thieves have taken to stealing a license plate off of a vehicle that is  similar to the make and colour of vehicle they stole.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When police check the license plate it doesn&#8217;t always come back as being a stolen vehicle,&#8221; said Const. Steve Murray.<\/p>\n<p>According to Murray, some bad drivers have been doing the same.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If  someone has a lot of unpaid traffic fines or judgments against them for  collisions they&#8217;ve been involved in and they don&#8217;t satisfy<\/p>\n<p>those judgments \u2014 the province<\/p>\n<p>withholds their ability to register<\/p>\n<p>a motor vehicle,&#8221; Murray said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So now what these drivers will do is steal a valid plate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the Hide it, Lock it, or Lose it campaign, the Lacombe Police have launched an initiative meant to raise awareness and combat a trend involving the theft of license plates.
