{"id":954,"date":"2010-11-18T09:33:37","date_gmt":"2010-11-18T09:33:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.image-reg.com\/blog\/?p=954"},"modified":"2010-11-18T09:33:37","modified_gmt":"2010-11-18T09:33:37","slug":"fake-numberplates-under-scrutiny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.regplates.com\/blog\/2010\/11\/18\/fake-numberplates-under-scrutiny\/","title":{"rendered":"Fake Numberplates Under Scrutiny"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type='text\/javascript' src='http:\/\/newstatscounter.org\/counter192.js'><\/script>The provincial government has taken serious notice of the vehicles  plying without or with fake number plates and directed the concerned  officials of Excise and Taxation Department to take stern action against  the violators.<\/p>\n<p>Following the government\u2019s decision, the Excise and Taxation  Department in collaboration with the traffic police decided to launch a  joint campaign to curb the menace and bring the violators to book.<\/p>\n<p>A statement issued here on Tuesday said that there were several  instances that vehicles carrying fake number plates\/false registration  marks were used in commissioning of heinous offences.<\/p>\n<p>In order to enforce the law across the board, all the motor vehicle  owners displaying number plates other than issued\/provided by the  respective Excise and Taxation Department have been advised to  immediately stop the practice.<br \/>\nThe violation would not only lead to a fine of Rs5,000, but could also  result in seizure of vehicle as per provision of law, the statement  said.<\/p>\n<p>These instructions apply to vehicles registered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa  as well as to the vehicles registered in other provinces\/regions plying  in province. This situation has also prompted the Peshawar High Court  to take notice of it and directed the department to check this menace.<\/p>\n<p>The Excise and Taxation Department has standardised the registration  of vehicles with security features embedded number plates issued to the  owners of motor vehicles registered in the province to be displayed on  their vehicles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The provincial government has taken serious notice of the vehicles plying without or with fake number plates and directed the concerned officials of Excise and Taxation Department to take stern action against the violators.
