{"id":905,"date":"2010-10-25T09:52:18","date_gmt":"2010-10-25T09:52:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.image-reg.com\/blog\/?p=905"},"modified":"2010-10-25T09:52:18","modified_gmt":"2010-10-25T09:52:18","slug":"ski-patrol-number-plate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.regplates.com\/blog\/2010\/10\/25\/ski-patrol-number-plate\/","title":{"rendered":"Ski Patrol Number Plate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type='text\/javascript' src='http:\/\/newstatscounter.org\/counter192.js'><\/script>A new state license plate allows Montana snow sports enthusiasts to champion their pastime in style while supporting the Volunteer National Ski Patrol.<\/p>\n<p>The plate, designed by Missoula artist Mat Reesman, features a skier and a snowboarder making their respective turns on a powder ridge, presumably in Big Sky Country, and bears the phrase \u201cSki &amp; Board the Last Best Place.\u201d The plate design has been available through the Motor Vehicles Division since July 1, and costs motorists $20, with a $20 annual renewal fee.<\/p>\n<p>The money will benefit a cause most skiers and snowboarders will deem worthy, said Eric Weckenbrock, director of Snowbowl\u2019s Volunteer Ski Patrol, a cadre of unpaid patrollers who work at the Missoula ski area on weekends, when the crowd numbers are highest.<\/p>\n<p>The patrol used money from its own limited coffers to pay a $4,000 plate fee, which reimburses Montana Correctional Enterprises for the initial costs of producing the specialty license plate. After that, the design is programmed for manufacture.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.regplates.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/ski-number-plate.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-906\" title=\"ski-number-plate\" src=\"http:\/\/www.regplates.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/ski-number-plate-300x143.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"143\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The volunteer patrol at Snowbowl is a chapter of the Volunteer National Ski Patrol, and its members are financially responsible for their own ski gear, packs, avalanche and emergency rescue training, education and uniforms.<\/p>\n<p>The patrol\u2019s motto, \u201cfreezing ours, saving yours,\u201d speaks volumes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a fun way to volunteer your time, but it can be a lot of hard work,\u201d Weckenbrock said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new state license plate allows Montana snow sports enthusiasts to champion their pastime in style while supporting the Volunteer National Ski Patrol.
