The background of the  licence plates will be white and the numbers in black in English. On the  left side there will be maroon colour, colour of Qatar\u2019s flag.\u201d<br \/>\nClarifying  several points in the new traffic executive bylaws which came into  force on August 28 this year, Brig al-Kharji said the new rules were  \u201cinterpretation\u201d of the Traffic Law No. 19 for the year 2007.<br \/>\n\u201cThis  includes automobile workshops, garages, showrooms selling and buying  cars, rent a car offices, driving schools, car decoration shops and all  other related subjects.\u201d<br \/>\nBrig al-Kharji said: \u201cThese regulations are  to interpret the Traffic Law which has brought positive results in terms  of reduced numbers of deaths and injuries as recorded by the Hamad  Medical Corporation. It has also reduced the number of accidents and  encouraged the people to comply with traffic rules and created a greater  awareness among different segments of the society. People are following  the law at a greater level even when they are not being watched by the  traffic police.\u201d<br \/>\nReplying to a query on the hike in insurance  premiums, he said the increase was comparable to the rates charged in  other GCC countries.\u00a0 \u201cThe insurance companies have to clear the claims  within 10 days irrespective the value of the claims.
