M. Rescue Tugs in 1943, taking part in the invasion in 1944.<\/p>\n<p>After demobilisation, he sailed on trawlers from both Hull and Grimsby, before spending a number of years on tramp steamers and tankers.<\/p>\n<p>He marries his wife Eileen in 1955, leaving the sea to live in the South Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>The book is available through Waterstones, Browns in Hull and Barkers, Hallgate, Cottingham.
