Bidding for the plate currently tops  $1,200.<\/p>\n<p>The state of Georgia is offering the specialty plate and  it is a registered number plate, not a novelty item, available for  licensed Georgia drivers.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the auction for this number plate, the specialty tag is available via the Zoo Atlanta  Trading Company gift shop or any Georgia motor vehicle office. A portion  of all tags issued will benefit Zoo Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.regplates.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/georgia-zoo-number-plate.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-668\" title=\"georgia-zoo-number-plate\" src=\"http:\/\/www.regplates.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/georgia-zoo-number-plate.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"126\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Auction proceeds and  funds from the Silverback Gorilla Gala that coincided with this auction  benefit Zoo Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>The Zoo boasts the second largest collection  of western lowland gorillas in the U.S., ranging in age from toddlers  to 50 years old.  Since 1989, 17 gorillas have been born in The Ford  African Rain Forest, making Zoo Atlanta an international leader and  model for gorilla conservation.<\/p>\n<p>Four generations of gorillas  originating at Zoo Atlanta now thrive at accredited institutions  throughout North America.
