{"id":643,"date":"2010-05-13T09:13:15","date_gmt":"2010-05-13T09:13:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.image-reg.com\/blog\/?p=643"},"modified":"2010-05-13T09:13:15","modified_gmt":"2010-05-13T09:13:15","slug":"joplin-number-plate-mural","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.regplates.com\/blog\/2010\/05\/13\/joplin-number-plate-mural\/","title":{"rendered":"Joplin Number Plate Mural"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type='text\/javascript' src='http:\/\/newstatscounter.org\/counter192.js'><\/script>National Tourism Week kicked off Monday and the Missouri Welcome Center hopes to inspire people to travel.<\/p>\n<p>The Welcome Center on I-44 is home to a mural consisting of 500 license plates that spell out &#8220;Joplin&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>All 50 states are represented on the mural that was finished last November.<\/p>\n<p>The artist, Matthew Dehaemers, says he was inspired by the license plate game when he was kid and hopes tourists enjoy his work.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The idea is this might inspire somebody who may not have wanted to stop off to actually be curious to ask about one of these areas,&#8221; Dehaemers tells us.  &#8220;This might make them want to stop and check something out that they may not otherwise been interested in.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Tourism Week kicked off Monday and the Missouri Welcome Center hopes to inspire people to travel.
