Bill Ritter on Monday vetoed his first bill of the session, nixing a measure that would have changed number plate requirements for farmers.<\/p>\n<p>House Bill 1101 would have prohibited issuers of farm-truck number plates from requiring registrants to show proof of eligibility for those agricultural number plates. Under current law, individuals who wish to register a vehicle as a farm truck must certify on a Colorado Department of Revenue form that it will be used for agricultural purposes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The current system has worked well for decades, and I am unconvinced that there is a compelling need for a change,&#8221; Ritter said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
