Mary Margaret Whipple (D-31st) is patroning legislation authorizing the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue specialty license plates in honor of the Washington Capitals, whose headquarters and training facility is located in Ballston.<\/p>\n<p>The state Senate approved a similar measure last session, but the Capitals\u2019 plate was removed on the House of Delegates side.<\/p>\n<p>Those purchasing the plates would pay an annual surcharge of $25.
