In order to control it the department has made it  obligatory for the person who renews the vehicle\u2019s road permit to wait  for an SMS through the Metrash service on his mobile phone indicating  the date and time for him to have his number plate changed at the  department\u2019s workshop.<br \/>\nThe new number plate is a uniform design mutually agreed upon by all the  Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries and has been modelled on the  personalised number plates used in European countries.<br \/>\nThe previous personalised number plate caused confusion for the radars while reading  the numerals, especially when there is a zero in the end.<\/span><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Traffic department has introduced a queue system through the Metrash service to check the clamour for new personalised number plates especially among Qataris, a report in the local Arabic daily Arrayah said.
