If number plates are notchanged by August 31 within the 30-day  deadline, the vehicle&#8217;s registration certificate will be suspended. ?<\/p>\n<p>The  dimension for number plates according to transport department rules is  100mm by 200mm for two-wheelers and 45mm by 285mm or 500mm by 120mm for  four-wheelers. &#8220;Deviation from these dimensions is an offense. Most  numberplate makers are aware of these dimensions, so it should not be  difficult for the vehicle owners,&#8221; said transport commissioner S  Murugaia.
