{"id":1075,"date":"2011-01-14T10:29:30","date_gmt":"2011-01-14T10:29:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.image-reg.com\/blog\/?p=1075"},"modified":"2011-01-14T10:29:30","modified_gmt":"2011-01-14T10:29:30","slug":"cherished-number-plate-auction-for-lucky-numbers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.regplates.com\/blog\/2011\/01\/14\/cherished-number-plate-auction-for-lucky-numbers\/","title":{"rendered":"Cherished Number Plate Auction For &#8216;Lucky&#8217; Numbers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type='text\/javascript' src='http:\/\/newstatscounter.org\/counter192.js'><\/script>The island\u2019s high-rollers  will descend upon The Metropole hotel in Phuket Town on February 26 and  27 for the sixth annual \u201cLucky\u201d License Plate Auction.<\/p>\n<p>Organized by the Phuket Land Transport Office (PLTO), the event will see 301 license plates go to the highest bidders.<\/p>\n<p>The auction will be held from 8:30am to 4:30pm in the Prapitak Grand Ballroom.<\/p>\n<p>Kanok  Siripanichkorn, chief of the PLTO, explained that all plates to go  under the hammer are for personal sedan vehicles with a capacity of  fewer than seven persons and are designated with the Thai letters \u201cKor  Nor\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Among the \u201cSuper Number\u201d plates up for auction, featuring  the color image of Laem Phromthep as the background, are 1111, 8888 and  9999 \u2013 all considered especially auspicious by many Thais.<\/p>\n<p>The opening bids for these double pairs are set at 50,000 baht each, said Chief Kanok.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese plates can be great gifts for your loved ones and family members.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Opening bids for plates with other appealing numbers range from 500 to 10,000 baht, Chief Kanok added.<\/p>\n<p>Chief  Kanok said the previous auction of lucky number license plates in  September 2009 generated 18,745,500 baht from 486 bidders.<\/p>\n<p>The highest successful bid in that auction was 800,000 baht for \u201cKor Tor 9999\u201d.
