{"id":1017,"date":"2010-12-07T10:04:10","date_gmt":"2010-12-07T10:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.image-reg.com\/blog\/?p=1017"},"modified":"2010-12-07T10:04:10","modified_gmt":"2010-12-07T10:04:10","slug":"cherished-numberplates-support-male-cancer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.regplates.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/07\/cherished-numberplates-support-male-cancer\/","title":{"rendered":"Cherished Numberplates Support Male Cancer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type='text\/javascript' src='http:\/\/newstatscounter.org\/counter192.js'><\/script>Motorists can now buy blue number plates to help in the fight against prostate cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The NSW government announced the initiative to support  the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) on Monday &#8211; 100 years  after number plates were first used on the state&#8217;s roads.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a real opportunity for people to make a difference,&#8221; NSW Roads Minster David Borger told reporters in Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think people are happy to wear the badge to show they are supporters of good causes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The partnership with the PCFA was prompted by the success  of pink plates, with more than $120,000 raised for breast cancer at the  McGrath Foundation since April 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Borger announced the government was committed to the pink plate campaign, which had been due to end on June 30 this year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s fantastic to see how much motorists have really taken to the idea,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Blue plates, which have been on the road since 2003, will  join the pink charity plates, with the government donating $15 from  their sale &#8211; and $50 from the sale of personalised plates &#8211; to the PCFA  and the McGrath Foundation respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Motorists can now buy blue number plates to help in the fight against prostate cancer.
